The Spring Festival, the most important festival in China, is a symbol of unity, prosperity and new hopes for the future.

Wherever in China, people will have a family reunion during the festival, decoratig their houses with lanterns and festoons and blessing each other.

Traditionally Chinese people set off firecrackers during the Spring Festival, in the belief that this tradition helps scare off the Nian and brings good fortune at the beginning of the year and good luck throughout the year.

The most important days are the Spring Festival Eve and the first three days of the festival, and all family members get together to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
