On October 30 and 31, the Chinese Embassies in Brazil and Malaysia announced the opening of applications for the 2025/2026 Chinese Government Scholarship.

1.The Chinese Government Scholarship is available to non-Chinese citizens. Applicants must meet the corresponding educational qualifications:

2.For Bachelor's degree applicants: must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with outstanding academic performance and generally not exceeding 25 years of age.
2. 申请学士学位的申请人：必须拥有高中文凭或同等学历，学术成绩优异，年龄一般不超过25岁。
3.For Master's degree applicants: must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with excellent academic records, and generally not exceeding 35 years of age.
3. 申请硕士学位的申请人：必须拥有学士学位或同等学历，学术成绩优秀，年龄一般不超过35岁。
4.For Doctoral degree applicants: must have a Master's degree or equivalent, with outstanding academic performance, and generally not exceeding 40 years of age.
4. 申请博士学位的申请人：必须拥有硕士学位或同等学历，学术成绩优异，年龄一般不超过40岁。
5.For general advanced studies: applicants must have at least a high school diploma, and generally not exceed 45 years of age.

6.For senior advanced studies: applicants must hold a Master's degree or a title above associate professor, and generally not exceed 50 years of age.

Applicants must also meet the academic, language, and other related admission requirements of the institution they are applying to.

Application Timeline and Process

The application system is now open. Applicants must submit their applications online by February 20, 2025, via the website: www.campuschina.org. No paper materials are required.The Chinese Embassy in Brazil will process and review the application materials, verify the eligibility of applicants, and submit them for approval to the China Scholarship Council. Results are expected to be announced by the end of June 2025.

Application for the 2025/2026 Chinese Government Scholarship(Bilateral Scholar Programs) is now open for Malaysians. Eligible applicants are advised to find out more about the introduction of Chinese Government Scholarship, brief Introduction of Chinese Universities open for applicants and further information from the China Scholarship Council website “Campus China”(http://www.campuschina.org). Online application and the corresponding application email should be sent to Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Malaysia no later than February 2nd, 2025.

To be eligible, applicants must
要符合资格，申请人必须：
1.be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health both mentally and physically.
1. 是中华人民共和国以外的国家的公民，并且身心健康。
2.be a high school graduate (at least) under the age of 45 when applying for general scholar programs;
2. 申请普通学者项目时，至少是高中毕业生，年龄不超过45岁；
3.be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for senior scholar programs.
3. 申请高级学者项目时，持有硕士学位或副教授职称以上，年龄不超过50岁。
4.have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 3 when applying for Chinesetaught undergraduate or general scholar programs (studying Chinese language are exempted);
4. 申请中文授课的本科或普通学者项目时，需获得HSK 3级汉语水平（学习汉语的除外）；
5.have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 3 when applying for Chinesetaught senior scholar programs;
5. 申请中文授课的高级学者项目时，需获得HSK 3级汉语水平；
6.meet the admission requirements of the applied universities in terms of academic ability,language proficiency and other relevant criterial.
6. 满足所申请大学在学术能力、语言能力和其他相关标准方面的入学要求。
NOTE
注意
According to the regulations of CGS, students currently doing a degree in China cannot enjoy the status as general or senior scholars at the same time.
根据CGS的规定，目前在中国攻读学位的学生不能同时享有普通或高级学者的身份。
