【习语注释】

该习语是拉丁语的表达，其中的carpe相当于pluck，表示“采摘”，diem相当于day，表示“日子；时光”。该习语的字面意思是“pluck the day when it is ripe”，主要用来喻指“enjoy or seize the day”，即“享受或抓住当下”，相当于汉语里的“及时行乐；抓住机遇；把握现在；把握时机”。

【闲话习语】

该习语首次使用记录出现在古罗马诗人贺拉斯（Quintus Horatius Flaccus）的作品《Odes Book I》中：

"Dum loquimur, fugerit invidaAetas: carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

其含义是：

"While we're talking, envious time is fleeing: pluck the day, put no trust in the future."

但真正让该习语在英语中广泛使用的是英国著名诗人拜伦（Lord Byron），他在其作品《Letters》中这么写到：

I never anticipate, - carpe diem - the past at least is one's own, which is one reason for making sure of the present.
