何海霞自幼酷爱书画,受父母熏陶,少时从张大千习画,民国丙戌年随师入川写生。弱冠时加入中国画学研究会。甲子年,拜韩公典为师;甲戌年,拜张大千为师,随师游历齐鲁巴蜀,饱览古画,临摹宋元明清真迹。丙子年,与齐白石、张大千、于非闇在长春、大连等地举办联展,声名大振。
From a young age, He Haixia loved painting and calligraphy, influenced by his parents. In his youth, he studied under Zhang Daqian and, in the 14th year of the Republic of China, followed his master to sketch in Sichuan. At the age of twenty, he joined the China Painting Research Society. In the 37th year of the cycle, he apprenticed with Han Gongdian; in the 29th year of the cycle, he apprenticed again with Zhang Daqian, traveling through Shandong and Sichuan, studying ancient paintings and copying works from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. In the 25th year of the cycle, he held joint exhibitions with Qi Baishi, Zhang Daqian, and Yu Feian in Changchun and Dalian, gaining significant recognition.
