在本届奥斯卡金像奖提名名单中,《奥本海默》《芭比》《花月杀手》《坠落的审判》《可怜的东西》《过往人生》《利益区域》《音乐大师》《美国小说》《留校联盟》10部颁奖季热门电影被提名最佳影片。其中诺兰执导的传记大作《奥本海默》获13项提名领跑,“石头姐”艾玛·斯通主演的荒诞科幻爱情片《可怜的东西》以11项提名紧随其后,莱昂纳多·迪卡普里奥和马丁·斯科塞斯合作的《花月杀手》以10项提名排在第三。
