On December 27, immigration officers at Beijing Airport Border Inspection Station, under the Beijing General Station of Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection, discovered a foreign traveler engaging in activities outside the permitted area specified by their visa.

12月27日，北京出入境边防检查总站北京机场边检站在检查时发现一名外国旅客在其签证规定的许可区域外从事活动。

The individual's actions constituted illegal residence under Chinese law. In accordance with Article 78, Paragraph 1 of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People’s Republic of China, the individual was fined RMB 500 as an administrative penalty.

根据中国法律，该人的行为构成了非法居留。根据《中华人民共和国出境入境管理法》第78条第1款的规定，该人被处以500元人民币的行政处罚。
