红色卫士是中国的基本步兵，他的单位图标背着56式突击步枪，而游戏建模则使用栓动步枪。中国步兵作战理论规定，步枪手应该强调精度和火力，而不是射速。因此红色卫士在21世纪仍然使用老旧但可靠的栓动步枪，发射全威力步枪弹。他擅长对付步兵，惧怕坦克。
早期图标
他的防护力弱，护甲类型是单兵护甲，生命值120，培训时间10秒，热键R。培训成本300，程世涛将军350，戴宏奎将军375；速度25，重伤时15。对地造成15点轻武器伤害，冷却时间1000，射程100，占领建筑的距离是5，视野100-200。
早期建模
红色卫士依靠人数抵消射速劣势，每次培训该单位会包含两人，制造每辆装甲输送车包含8人。他的培训速度很快，可以在遭遇战初期就大量培训，用数量压倒敌人。他尤其擅长消灭GLA的恐怖分子，与坦克猎人或战神坦克组队可以为这些较高价值的目标吸引伤害，因为坦克猎人速度较慢，要注意不要让后者脱队。
数量达到5人即可获得集群增益，增加射速。当他们数量够多时，可以快速破坏建筑，所以他是一种廉价的反建筑选择。戴宏奎购买装甲输送车赠送的红色卫士比在兵营培训更便宜。单个红色卫士的战斗力不如其它阵营的基础步兵，很容易被GLA的4管加农炮、中国的加特林坦克和美国的悍马收割，因为他们要聚集在一起获得集群增益，也没有生化防护，所以容易被闪光弹、毒素武器和核武器大范围杀伤。

升级：
1.红色卫士训练：任何级别的将军都可以在晋升菜单上购买，把该单位升级成老兵等级；
2.俘获建筑：在兵营花费1000解锁俘获建筑能力；
3.民族主义：集群增益增加25%，在宣传中心花费2000购买。
在概念图中，他像是蒙古人，装备MG 42通用机枪和M1911手枪。游戏文件表明冼辉阵营的该单位原本有生化防护服；程世涛原本拥有一种衍生叫核红色卫士，装备核火箭筒。
冼辉将军用米尼冈机枪手替换红色卫士作为基础步兵。
