01See the joke ≠看笑话

“See”除了有“看见”的意思以外，还有“理解；领会”的意思。所以，“See the joke”的意思并不是“看笑话”，而是表达没有理解这个笑话的笑点。

例句：

He didn't see the joke.

他没听懂这则笑话。

02I'm green≠我绿了

其实，“Green”在形容人的时候，意思是：不成熟的；缺乏经验的；幼稚的。先看看英英解释：If you say that someone is green, you mean that they have had very little experience of life or a particular job. 所以，“I'm green”真正的意思是：我是个新手。

例句：

The new trainees are still very green.

这些受培训的新学员还很不成熟。

03我很无聊 ≠ I'm boring

当你跟别人说“I'm boring”的时候，你以为你表达的是：我很无聊，对方听到的却是：我是个无趣的人，那“我很无聊”应该怎样表达呢？

例句：

I'm bored. Let's go home.

01joking aside：

当某人说 “joking aside(撇开玩笑不谈)” 时，意思是 “别开玩笑了，严肃一点”，也就是 “玩笑归玩笑，说正经的，言归正传”。和“joking apart” 与 “joking aside” 的意思相同，用法也一样。

例：

It was quite funny that he slipped in the pool like that. But, joking apart, I think we need to be more careful next time we go swimming at night.

the butt of the joke：

The " butt of a joke" or " the butt of the joke" is the person about whom a joke makes fun;it is the person who is being laughed at, and here, it usually isn't in a friendly way.
